Frequently
Asked Questions
Do I have to tell you which route I am going to Walk?
No, you can change your mind enroute if you get tired. Make it a challenge, but not so much that you can't move the next day!
How should I dress?
Dress in layers and wear running shoes. We Walk, rain or shine, so you may want to carry a raincoat. Some people even bring an extra pair of socks.
Can I take my pet?
Sorry, because of safety reasons, pets aren't allowed.
Should I train?
It isn't a bad idea, especially if you want to Walk the longer route and have to work the next day!
Do I have to register my young child?
Yes, everyone who is Walking needs to register.
What do I need to bring with me on Walk day?
You will need your pledge envelope with correct totals added on the outside; inside the envelope have your pledge form and collected pledges. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and appropriate outerwear for the weather. And please remember to bring a water bottle to fill up on route.
I brought in my pledges to the MS office before Walk day or I am not bringing in any pledges – do I still have to check-in?
Yes, all Walkers need to check-in at the Check-In Tent. This lets us know you attended the Walk and helps us keep track of the number of people on site.
When do I have to have all my money in?
Please have your money in one week after the Walk.
When can I pick up my prize?
Please refer to the newsletter for more information on prize pick ups. T-shirts are available the day of the Walk if you've brought in $125 in pledges.
Why should I get a team together?
It's more fun to Walk as a team! Your teammates will encourage you to train and raise funds. You can also win extra prizes and we will take a team photo.
Are the routes wheelchair accessible?
All of the routes in St. Albert are wheelchair accessible. In Edmonton, the 3 and 10km routes are accessible, but there are stairs on the 15km route.
