REGISTRATION STILL OPEN. This is a drop-in program - you can join us by registering anytime. If you have registered but do not hear from us, please be sure to check your junkmail, add 'neurosask@usask.ca' to your 'safe mailing list', or email us at 'neurosask@usask.ca' so we can help to make sure you receive the links for our sessions.

WE WILL CONTINUE TO RUN THROUGHOUT 2024! The 'Active' sessions run every Tuesday and Thursday and our 'Connect' sessions run every Thursday following the Active session.

NeuroSask: Active and Connected is a virtual program tailored to people with neurological conditions, providing physiotherapy-guided movement, expert information on health and wellness, and social-connection during COVID-19. The doors to your local group may be closed, but we are open for active connection!

NeuroSask is a Saskatchewan led initiative through the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Medicine in collaboration with the MS Society of Canada, Parkinson Canada, Spinal Cord Injury Saskatchewan, Office of the SK MS Clinical Research Chair, and Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation.

We offer a 30 min 'Active' portion every Tuesday and Thursday at 2:00pm Saskatchewan Time. Our 'Active' portion is a seated movement class led by a physiotherapist focused on alignment, seated postural control, body awareness, range of motion, muscle activation, with some resistance training and bouts of cardio sprinkled throughout.  On Tuesdays following the 'Active' session we run a stretching class to help with range of motion and pain and spasticity management. On Thursdays following the 'Active' session we run our 'Connect' session where we host a guest expert on a health and wellness topic. Join us whenever you can. Come for the physical activity portion (2:00-2:30), the stretching session (Tuesdays 2:30-3:00ish) or the connect portion (Thursdays 2:30-3:00ish), or both!

A note about time zones: There was a time change with daylight savings on November 5th. NeuroSask will continue to be delivered at 2:00pm Saskatchewan Time. Because we (Saskatchewan) don't follow daylight savings (and the rest of the Country does) from November 2023 - March 2024, NeuroSask will still begin at 2:00pm Saskatchewan time but if you are in BC (Revelstoke and west) this will be at 12pm. If you are in AB (or in BC east of Revelstoke) this will be 1pm. If you are in MB this will be 2pm. If you are in ON or QB this is 3pm. If you are in NB, NS or PEI this is 4pm. If you are in NFLD this is 4:30pm.

We use zoom for our sessions. This video provides a brief overview of using zoom including how to access meeting links, change your username, raise your hand, and mute/unmute your mic. Tip for zoom sessions - If you are ever experiencing a bad connection during one of our sessions, try leaving meeting and logging back in. For whatever reason this seems to be working.
